Timber construction has long been about more than simply choosing a building material. It combines architecture, engineering, industrial production, circular economy principles and economic viability into a future-oriented construction system.
With the 1st Alps-Adriatic Timber Construction Conference “HOLISTIC WOOD – Holistic Building with Wood in the Alps-Adriatic Region”, a new platform for cross-border professional exchange will be established on 3 September 2026 as part of the International Wood Fair Klagenfurt.
Experts from Austria, Slovenia and Italy will highlight current developments in timber construction, ranging from innovative best-practice projects, urban and multi-storey timber construction to circular economy, digital manufacturing, financing and future-oriented connection technologies.
The conference is aimed at architects, chartered architects and engineers, planners, property developers, investors, representatives of the timber construction industry, as well as students and young professionals. For chartered architects and engineers, participation will be recognised as continuing professional development.
In addition to our numerous car parks, a shuttle bus is available during the exhibition’s opening hours. It runs every 15 minutes directly from the motorway car park and the P+R opposite Minimundus to the main entrance on St. Ruprechter Straße (East) and back again – for just €2 per person. Use of the motorway car park is free of charge. This way, you can reach the exhibition centre comfortably and stress-free!
